Within Preference Services, legal and compliance operations demanded a more robust and visually coherent foundation. Much of the material was complex, text-heavy and inconsistent, making it difficult for internal teams and external stakeholders to navigate. I recognised the opportunity to bring design thinking into these highly procedural areas, improving accessibility, clarity and consistency without compromising rigour.
Design Direction
Visually, I maintained the core DMA connection through the use of blue and yellow, but introduced a blue top banner to distinguish corporate areas from consumer-facing ones. The imagery was deliberately more dynamic and aspirational, reflecting the professional value of the services offered. My manager encouraged a more premium visual tone for the corporate audience, so I used bolder photography and richer colour contrast to achieve a more corporate look and feel while maintaining brand integrity.
Transformation
The first challenge lay in the legal documentation itself. I redesigned and restructured two major compliance documents, each just under 200 pages, modernising their layout and introducing clear hierarchy, typography and navigation systems. The goal was to ensure that legal language could remain precise yet readable, giving the team a professional and unified format to use across audits, contracts and regulatory submissions.
At the same time, I led the redesign of the corporate section of the MPS and TPS websites, aligning them under a shared framework. The corporate platforms required far more functionality than the public-facing sites, including secure access for licensees to manage their profiles, invoices and files. I created a design system that balanced usability and visual identity, mirroring the structure of the MPS and TPS sites but adapted for a business audience.
